The Land of the Dead begins in 1994, at Zone 69. From there went the zero patient, who killed all the military and scientists at the base. The infection went further around the state - to large cities, then to villages.
The story begins in San Fierro. Two months after the outbreak, San Fierro police are building a survivor camp near him. Officers make forays into the city in order to find food or weapons there, but they only see 'walking ' in front of them. There are no more living people in these places. In an attempt to find a more suitable place for living, they meet a man from another survivor camp in the village of Diablos. Then they decide to stay.
