Mission 1

In the first mission, the game’s requirement was to establish population equality. In other words, each district in a state must have the approximate same population. In the mission, I redrew the districts to create a population equality of 640,000-650,000 people per district.

In my attempt to complete the mission, I succeeded in redistricting the various districts so that there was a population equality of 640,000-650,000 people per district. This mission was not difficult at all. One major problem that I encountered was trying to make the amount of people in each district equal.

Mission 2

In the second mission, I had to perform a partisan gerrymander in order to gain a third Democratic district. Since the Democratic party controls the State Legislature, they have a chance to help their party by gerrymandering a new democratic district. I had to redraw the districts to give the party a majority in 3 districts instead of 2. At the same time, I had to maintain population equality just like in mission one.

At the end of submitting the plan, my plan was successful. In my opinion, this mission was harder than the first one but not so difficult in the end. Another problem that I ran into was maintaining population equality and giving the Democrats a majority.

Mission 3

In the third mission, I had to redraw the districts to give each incumbent a 55% majority in their district. I also had to retain the population equality of 640,000-650,000 people per district.

After submitting my plan, and going through the approval process, my plan was successful. The State Legislature voted 100 yes’. the governor signed the plan, and the Court ruled it as dismissed. This mission was, in a way, difficult to accomplish. Some problems that I ran into was trying to keep the balance between population equality and giving each representative a 55% or more majority.

Mission 4

In the fourth mission, I had to redraw the districts to create a new district with a 65% African-American majority and establish the population equality of 640,000-650,000 people per district.

The fourth mission was difficult because I had to manage the population, while keeping the percentage of African-Americans in the fifth district at 65%.

Mission 5

In the fifth mission, I had to redraw the districts under the Tanner Reform Bill and maintain the population equality of 640,000-650,000 people per district.

In this mission, I had great difficulty passing the plan. I attempted various ways to change the plan but unfortunately, it did not pass. Trying to pass this took me about an hour.
